Training for the people who design, build, and service advancing energy systems
Energy technology is advancing quickly. The Academy is a structured, lab-based training system that helps technicians, supervisors, and engineers keep their technical judgment current through interactive labs, real service scenarios, graded decisions, and a professional certificate.
Why keeping pace is harder than it used to be
Equipment advances faster than judgment can keep up
Every year brings new inverters, storage, controls, and communication layers. Training that only covers the basics leaves technicians unsure when they face equipment they have not seen before.
A wrong decision is expensive
When the right call is not obvious, guessing produces callbacks, extra parts, and safety exposure. Sound judgment protects the job, the customer, and the people doing the work.
Safety pressure grows as systems grow
Isolation, arc flash, and energy storage introduce new risks. The people who work on these systems need practice making safe calls before they are on the clock.
How the training works
- Step 1
Work a real service scenario
Each module opens on a job you would actually be sent to, with the symptoms, site conditions, and constraints you would really face in the field.
- Step 2
Commit to a decision and get graded
Safety, diagnosis, sequence, and checklist labs are marked against what the work actually requires. A safety failure is a failure, not a warning.
- Step 3
Review the practical reasoning
Every submission returns the evidence that mattered, the trap that could have led the wrong way, and the sharper path a seasoned technician would take.
- Step 4
Prove it on the four-stage capstone
One continuous 10.2 kW hybrid scenario with forced gates — safety, then diagnosis, then checklist, then sequence. Pass it and the certificate is issued.
What the training actually holds you to
Not claims about outcomes — the standard built into the track itself. You can check every one of these against the syllabus before you pay.
- 16 modules
- 16 lessons across four phases, each ending in work you can be graded on.
- 30 graded labs
- Safety, diagnosis, sequence and checklist labs marked against what the work requires.
- ~14 hours
- Practical work, not watch-time. There is no video you can leave running.
- 80% to pass
- A safety failure fails the lab outright. It is never averaged away by a good score elsewhere.
- 4-stage capstone
- One continuous 10.2 kW hybrid scenario with forced gates before the certificate is issued.
- Field documents
- The commissioning sheet and service report you produce are the ones you can use on the van.

The labs are the product. Rather than describe them, here is one from the track — playable right now, no account, no card.
Diagnosis lab
String inverter fault call
A 5 kW string inverter logs 'Isolation resistance low' most mornings between 07:00 and 09:30, then runs normally all day. Production is down about 9% month over month. The roof is nine years old and the array has two strings.
- 1
You are handed the call
The scenario is written the way dispatch would give it to you — symptoms, timing, site age, and nothing else. No hint about which answer is intended.
- 2
You commit to your checks
Pick the moves you would actually make on this visit. Every option is weighted: first-line checks score, time-wasters cost you, and defeating a protection setting fails the lab outright.
- 3
The grader answers back
You get the evidence that mattered, the trap that leads the wrong way, and the sharper path a seasoned technician would have taken — per option, not a single score.

What the track prepares you to judge
- Walk a roof and a service panel and describe the whole system before touching a tool
- Run a site survey that the design team can actually build from
- Isolate DC, AC and battery energy safely, every time, with the right PPE and LOTO
- Commission a system to spec and prove it with measured, condition-corrected numbers
- Triage the faults that generate most service calls inside the first fifteen minutes
- Isolate advanced multi-symptom faults without shotgun parts replacement
- Run a professional service call from arrival to verified handover
- Close solar jobs cleanly in EcoService OS with defensible documentation
- Pass a full four-stage field assessment on a live hybrid system scenario
How the track is structured
Four phases, 16 modules. Each phase builds a layer of practical judgment, and every module ends with work you can be graded on. Open a phase to see its modules.
Tracks for every energy discipline
Each track is built for the people who work on that equipment, held to the same lab-based standard. Solar is open now; the rest are being written to the same bar.
Solar Service Technician
Sixteen modules of graded field work: isolate energy safely, commission to spec, and diagnose live PV, storage and hybrid systems without guessing.
HVAC Service Technician
Refrigeration circuit judgment, airflow and charge verification, controls and compressor failure analysis — held to the same standard of proof as the solar track.
Battery Storage Specialist
Hybrid architectures, BMS behaviour under load, thermal risk and defensible commissioning of storage assets.
EV Charger Service
Load management, earthing arrangements, OCPP fault interpretation and first-visit repair on public and residential chargers.
Appliance Repair Technician
Sealed systems, control board reasoning and the discipline behind a genuine first-visit fix rate.
Industrial / Plant Maintenance
Rotating plant, permit systems, condition monitoring and shutdown work where the cost of being wrong is measured in lost production.
In their own words
We do not publish testimonials we cannot attribute. This section stays empty until graduates send quotes we are allowed to name — no stock photos, no invented ratings, no composite “typical students”.

Training scope and safety
- The Academy provides technical training and instructional scenarios only.
- Completion does not constitute a professional license, electrical certification, or authorization to work on live electrical systems.
- Work on photovoltaic, battery, and electrical systems involves potentially lethal voltages and must only be performed by qualified persons, in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, and employer safety programs.
- Labs and materials are educational. The technician and their employer remain solely responsible for safe work practices, isolation, PPE, and compliance on actual jobs.
- EcoPowerHub AI / EcoService OS makes no warranty that completion of this training guarantees safe or correct field performance.
