Refrigerant handling certification for technicians who open a sealed system.
Issues: The EPA 608 Type I, II, III and Universal certification, via approved test proctors.
NATE
Voluntary technician knowledge certification across specialties.
Issues: NATE Core and specialty certificates, via NATE-approved testing organisations.
State and local AHJ
Contractor licensing, permits and mechanical code enforcement (IMC / NEC references).
Issues: Contractor and journeyman licences.
