What to include in a marine service quote

Vessel and access details

Vessel name, make, length, hull ID and slip or yard location tell the tech what gear and lift capacity the job needs. Note tide, bridge or draft restrictions that limit the work window.

Labor split by trade

Diesel and outboard mechanics, riggers, electronics techs and painters bill at different rates. Separate lines keep the quote defensible and make change orders easy.

Haul-out, blocking and lay days

Quote haul-out per foot, plus pressure wash, blocking, storage per day and launch. Yard time is the line most often underquoted on refit work.

Parts lead time and deposit

Marine parts can run weeks out. A 30–50% deposit on acceptance funds the order and anchors the schedule, which is why the template defaults to 40%.

Marine service quote template FAQs

Is this marine service quote template free?

Yes — the marine quote generator is 100% free and watermark-free. Building a quote needs no account; we ask for your email once to unlock PDF download and saving, then print or save from your browser.

What should a marine service quote include?

Vessel name, make/model, length, hull ID (HIN) and slip or yard location, plus separate lines for labor hours, parts, haul-out and launch, yard storage, and any environmental or disposal fees. Marine work is scheduled around tides, hauls and yard slots, so state lead time and access requirements too.

Does it cover yacht, sailboat and commercial vessel work?

Yes. The line-item layout suits engine and outdrive service, bottom paint and hull work, rigging, electronics and electrical, HVAC and refrigeration, generators, and shrink-wrap or winterization on yachts, sailboats, sportfish and small commercial fleets.

How do I quote haul-out and yard fees?

Quote haul-out, blocking, pressure wash, lay days and launch as their own line items with clear units (per foot, per day). Marine customers expect those broken out, and it protects your margin if the vessel sits in the yard longer than planned.

Can I add a deposit and tax to the quote?

Yes. Set a tax rate and a deposit percentage, and the template calculates subtotal, tax, total and deposit due in real time — useful when ordering long-lead marine parts.

How long should a marine quote stay valid?

Most yards and mobile marine techs use 14–30 days because parts pricing and yard availability move quickly. Use the 'Valid until' field to make the expiry explicit.

Can I send marine quotes and turn them into scheduled jobs?

Yes — EcoService OS sends quotes for e-signature, converts approved quotes into scheduled dock or yard jobs with the right tech and parts, then invoices them automatically. 14-day free trial.

Can I share a marine quote with a link?

Yes. Hit 'Copy share link' and the entire quote — vessel details, line items, tax, deposit, scope and terms — is encoded into the URL. Send it by email or text and the boat owner or yard manager opens the identical quote and can print or save it to PDF instantly, with no account and nothing stored on our servers.
