- Which knowledge areas do the questions cover?
- Service & Repair heavy — walk-ins, ice machines, reach-ins, defrost, TXV and charge diagnosis, and high head pressure — with smaller slices of design, start-up and preventive maintenance, matching the weighting of the commercial refrigeration sitting.
- Do I need to sign up?
- No. This page is a free sampler of the bank. The full Commercial Refrigeration bank and its timed exam-style mock are part of HVAC Technical Training — Paths A–D.
- Does this count toward the Academy's Commercial Refrigeration certificate?
- No. The Path B Academy certificate stays lab-and-lesson graded. This bank is optional exam preparation — nothing here is required for, or counts toward, the certificate.
- Why do so many questions punish 'add charge' answers?
- Because that is the most expensive habit in commercial refrigeration. Iced coils, starving evaporators and hunting TXVs all imitate low charge — and adding refrigerant to any of them creates a second fault on top of the first. Every explanation shows the field reasoning, and links the graded lab or lesson where you can practice the real call.
